Generic desktop email client

Use this path when your client accepts formatted paste, raw HTML, or plain text.

Before you begin

  • Copy the latest formatted signature from Memo - Use Copy latest signature before pasting into your email client.
  • Use a supported desktop browser for rich paste - Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge usually preserve formatting best.

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Choose what your client accepts

    Try formatted paste first, then raw HTML, then plain text.

  2. Step 2

    Copy the appropriate export

    Use Copy latest signature, Copy HTML, or Copy plain text from Memo.

  3. Step 3

    Open signature settings

    Create a new signature in your email client.

  4. Step 4

    Paste and save

    Paste into the signature editor and save changes.

  5. Step 5

    Send a test message

    Verify images, links, and spacing in a message to yourself.

Known limitations

  • Client behavior varies - Consult your provider current documentation if formatting is stripped.

What if my signature looks different after paste?
Email clients often adjust spacing or fonts. Use paste verification in Signature Studio and check the troubleshooting section for your client.
Will my signature stay the same in dark mode?
No. Many clients invert colors or adjust backgrounds in dark mode. Memo Check flags common risks, but you cannot fully control client dark-mode behavior.
