# How do I recover from an editing conflict?

Resolve a conflict when two people edit the same document.

## Symptom

Memo reports that the document changed since you opened it.

## Cause

A conflict means the saved document moved ahead of the copy you’re editing - usually because another editor saved in the meantime. Memo blocks a blind overwrite to protect both sets of changes.

## Resolution

1. Reload to see the latest saved document.
2. Re-apply your changes on top of the current version.
3. Coordinate with the other editor so you’re not editing the same area at once.
