# Immutable Version

A frozen snapshot of a template’s document at a point in time, identified by a content hash and never edited in place.

## Why it matters

Immutability makes review trustworthy - what was approved is exactly what gets exported.

## Example

Version 2 is approved; later edits create version 3, leaving version 2 intact.
