# Submit a version for review

Move a version into the approval workflow.

**Who this is for:** Editors and reviewers.

Once you have a version, submit it for review. Submission moves the version into an append-only approval workflow with role-gated actions: submit, approve, request changes, withdraw, and archive.

1. **Open the version** - Go to the template’s versions and open the one you want reviewed.
2. **Submit for review** - This signals reviewers and records the action in the history.
3. **Wait for a decision** - A reviewer will approve or request changes.

> Preflight must pass before a version can be approved, exported, or test sent. Resolve blocking findings first.

## Expected result

Your version is submitted and visible to reviewers.
