# Approve or request changes

Make a clear review decision on a submitted version.

**Who this is for:** Reviewers with approval permissions.

Reviewers with the right role move a submitted version forward by approving it or requesting changes. Every decision is recorded in the version’s append-only history.

- Approve to mark the version ready for export or a controlled test send.
- Request changes to send it back with context; the editor creates a new version after edits.
- Approval is blocked until preflight passes for that exact version.

## Expected result

The version is approved or returned with a clear decision.
