# Client Email Review for Agencies: One Version, One Link, One Decision

Agencies drown when every client feedback thread references a different draft. Freeze versions, share review links, record approve or request-changes.

*Guide · 8 min read · Updated 2026-07-31*

Agency review breaks when the client comments on Tuesday’s PDF while you edited Wednesday’s canvas. The fix is boring: one frozen version, one link, one decision per round.

## Separate clients at the workspace layer

Each client gets their own workspace, Brand Kit, and template library. Never blend assets or approval history across orgs.

## Preflight before the client sees it

Clients should not be your QA department for broken links. Run [preflight](https://memo.ly/docs/understand-email-preflight.md) before sharing a review link.

## End each round with a decision

Approve or request changes - logged on the version. Next round starts from a new snapshot, not silent edits to the old one.

> Example (fictional): Apple (sample brand) (agency) shares one review link per client round. Clients stopped asking “which PDF is this?” because the version number is visible.

## FAQ

### Can clients edit the email directly?

Workflow-dependent - often clients comment or approve while the agency edits. The point is a clear decision on a frozen version.

### How many review rounds are normal?

Two or three structured rounds beat endless Slack. Each round gets a new version.

### Does Memo replace client reporting?

No. Memo replaces ambiguous draft handoffs. Campaign reporting stays in your ESP.

### Can I export to the client’s ESP?

Yes - approved HTML exports to the sender they use. Memo does not send campaigns.
